Internship Opportunities

Position Overview

We are always looking for the next great trader on our team, and some of our current traders and trainees began their journey here as interns. Our internships will take you on a twelve week rotating journey through our business. Interns will be exposed to all aspects of our company - from the admin team, to traffic, to finally the trading floor with our seasoned experts. 

We offer summer internships which run from May through August for the course of twelve weeks full time. Over the course of your internship you will rotate every four weeks and experience all of our various departments and experience head on what it is like to be a lumber trader with our crash course. While this internship does not specifically fulfill any credits for universities, we are willing to sign paperwork as your school allows for equivalency credits. 

We are looking for someone with the following: 

  • Ability to be self-directed while working under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to cope with change, make decisions and act comfortably with risk and uncertainty.

  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and willing to work extra hours as needed to complete tasks.

  • Positive attitude with willingness to learn and be trained on company’s trading practices and business software is a must for this position.

  • Must follow company processes and controls in place to ensure operating company stays in full compliance with annual audits.

  • In addition must have a high level of attention to detail and work well with others. Fast paced environment with high volume of transactions.

  • Desire to succeed in order to be promoted to lumber trader.

  • Experience using Microsoft Products is required and any experience using Sales Assist and A/S 400 is a plus.
